Bad parenting, that's about how the plot can be summed up. Problems start because the father is an idiot who does not warn his daughter of the dangers she is facing, instead going with the good old line: No that's forbidden! (Seriously, when has that stopped any teenager ever?). Chosen one narrative is strong with this one, with fated guardians, sidekicks and mentors all leading up to... nothing. The one single time our heroine makes her own choice, its stopped dead in its tracks the next chapter. That's it for agency, lets continue passively for the plot to push the protagonist forward. The book is not bad, it is just on the bland passive side for me.Product details

Love this book
I really liked the book. It honestly didn't take me long to read it because I couldn't take my eyes away for too long. Really good read.
Interesting concept
Great story, kept me interested. I enjoy all sorts of YA books, but I liked that this focused more on magic than a love story. I bought all the other books (except the prequel) and am WAITING for book 5.....waiting.....waiting,,,,,,
Honestly, I have never seen an author have so much trouble using contractions. Almost every time the word should be "your," "you're" is used in error. Same thing with "its." When using a contraction, such as "you're," substitute "you are" - if it doesn't work, use the word "your." I simply can't read any more of this nonsense.
I loved this book and have actually read all of the avaliable books in the series..it is a little slow but once you really get into the story, it is hard to put down. I am impatiently waiting for the next book lol
